This morning I went in search of nature. I'm going to visit some schools in Tel Aviv soon, so needed to get a better sense of location, so I packed my bag and set off.
Actually, the day started out at 5 am with a whistle. You know that whistle some people have as an alert on cell phones? Yeah, so at 5 am I searched the apartment for all phones, ipads. Nope. It was a bird. Outside. So it is spring here too.
Israel is on the bird migration route from Europe to Africa. Every year at least 500 million birds pass through Israel twice. Tel Aviv is not the best place to bird watch, as there are not tons of green spaces, but I did what I could.
This is the SEA not a bird.
These are pigeons. They are birds.
Time out for the Carmel Market. BUSY on a Friday. You see, this is the start of the weekend. The work week runs Sunday-Thursday. Tonight at sundown begins the sabbath.

DOGS
DOGS- this one broke my heart. A rescue group has these dogs out every Friday for adoption. This owner dropped off this dog he had owned for 8 years. The dog was shaking he was so scared. Then apparently he nipped a little girl, hence the muzzle. I approached him slowly 'cause he was so nervous and he cuddled right up with me. :( bad people... I checked with my apartment rules and no dogs- otherwise this one would be right here.
MORE dawgs... :(
ART
